Today is the 1-Year Anniversary of my Blog – but in light of the day’s events in Newtown, Connecticut, I am dedicating this post to those who lost their lives, their families, and all children of the world. ~ Julie ♥
Today The Angels Wept
♥
Today the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once moreThey cried the tears we shared
As halls were stained with blood
And hearts throughout the land
Were united against the floodToday the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once moreTheir souls fell in despair
At what we had become
To see the Creator’s work
With hate and fear undoneToday the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once moreThey sank onto their knees
And raising tear-stained faces
Sent mournful prayers above
For children of all earth’s racesToday the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once moreThey cried out to the Heavens
To the One they call the Dove
Lord, when will they ever learn
The only path is that of LoveToday the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once moreThey shed their tears for us
Of mankind, they left out none
Because Angels know the truth
Without exception, we are OneToday the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once more♥

That is such a beautiful poem; so sad that it came from such a heinous day.
Susie, thank you so much. At times like these you feel so helpless … I wrote the poem throughout the day, in between tears …. xoxox
As always, your poem is beautiful and haunting. Be well, my friend.
Thank you so much, Tameri, this has been such a heart-breaking day. Be well also, my friend. xoxox
As so often happens, out of great sadness grows great art – your poem is lovely, and yes, the angels are weeping, probably choirs of them – nicely done.
Sheila, thank you so much. I felt a great need to put my feelings and sadness to words. Bless you. xoxox
Beautifully haunting. I’m reblogging.
Jenny, thank you so much; and thank you for reblogging and sharing my message, you do me – and the children – a great honour that is much appreciated, my friend. Love and hugs, Julie xoxox
Reblogged this on J. Keller Ford ~ Author and commented:
God bless the families and the victims.

Thanks for this, Julie–I’ve been a total wreck all day.
Dear Sis Caddo, I think many of us have been in a state of shock most of the day; and the tears have been flowing freely. (((Gentle hugs))) dear Caddo, sending you healing thoughts, love and prayers at this heart-breaking time. ~ Julie xoxox
Thank you for this…hearts and tears flowing, Love, Linda
Dear Linda, I’m still having great difficulty understanding such a great loss – not only of these children, but of our children all over the world, and each onslaught brings fresh grief and renewed tears. And perhaps it is not for us to understand, but to try to do our part to heal where we can – with all the love and light we possess, and to keep the knowledge in our hearts and souls that we are all One. I’m doing my best to convey this. Sending you much love and light, and gentle hugs, dear friend. ~ Love, Julie xoxox
Amen.
Such a beautiful tribute, Julie. I heard it on the news this morning over here. Horrible.
Love and hugs, Francina xoxo

Celeste
The shortest sentence in the Bible and in the entire world has always been “Jesus wept.” I am sure He too is weeping for those innocents,,,,,poetry represents the inner soul’s beauty in the face of horror, thank you for this beautiful poem.
Louise
Louise, thank you so much for your very kind words, and for coming by to visit and comment here today. Your own words, prayers and support for all our children is much appreciated, thank you. ~ Julie xox
Celeste, I’m so happy to see you again – I know you’ve been taking some time away and you have been missed. I just wish it were under better conditions, but welcome the addition of your prayers and your voice to ours. Thank you, my friend. ~ Love always, Julie xoxox
That’s a beautiful poem. Blessings to you.
Thank you so much, Lynda; I appreciate your visit and lovely comment. Blessings to you and yours also. ~ Julie xoxox
I don’t suppose there is really anyway to understand life on this good earth, Julie. What causes the swerves into mindless violence and hatred that drumrolls over humanity in waves and paroxysms? How in the world can what amounts to an assault weapon be dragged from a case and then used by a young man to punctuate a year with such deep despair and sorrow? Your refrain is well taken:
Today the Angels wept
As so many times before
To gather children’s souls
Into their hearts once more
Why is madness so alive in this, our universe?
Oh Thomas, it still makes me weep to know these things have happened, and are still happening all over the world today. Thank you so much for coming by to read and comment on this poem, especially when you and Ethel are dealing with so much yourselves. I have had great difficulty writing lately, but think I’m finally pulling out of the slump. I pray for you daily, and send out many healing thoughts and prayers to you both. May the Angels give you hope and strength, and enfold you in their light and love always. Love to you and Ethel, Julie xoxox
