Celestial Accord

Celestial Accord

North winds moan on hilltop high
Moon Mother reigns the midnight sky
O’er ancient fields of ice and stone
Where tangled vines are overgrown.

Senescent Druids of Celtic Mann
Revered wild wolfen talisman
Enshrined immortal heavens thus
To praise celestial kin, Lupus.

Namesake roams the wooded grove
His mate protecting den in cove
With reverence sings a haunting tune
Atop the knoll in full Blue Moon.

Celestial Accord – Acrostic

Celestial harmony of man and beast
Enshrines heavens gates with light
Lupus joins his voice in praise
Etched above, in starry night.
Senescent druids invoke their kin
The wild wolf heeds their calls
In tune with blessed mother moon
As on the knoll a north wind croons
Lullabies in nature’s halls.

As men and babes in slumber dream
Cosmos, their earthly prayers align
Corral in ancient ether realms
One song united, in holy chant
Revered in immortal heavens thus
Disperses light, and love divine.

  1. My God, Julie! This is Magnificent! I always wondered why you did not post poetry. I remember one that just turned my heart upside down. Now I realize that they do not announce as “posts” but are hidden on your site under the most subtle poetry category which I misunderstood. I waited and waited for your poetry, thought you wished not to share it! I must not be the only one, there would be miles of comments on these if they were known. Your work as a poet is extraordinary! Oh, I feel given gifts to savor and treasure with my soul!

    1. Linda, thank you so much, dear friend. I didn’t realize, until Thomas mentioned he couldn’t find my latest poem … and then Caddo … that they don’t send out notices. I didn’t know how to solve the problem until I thought of a poetry index – and, voila, hopefully problem solved.

I love sharing my poetry with others; knowing that I’ve been able to connect and touch someone with my words is a wonderful feeling, and a further inspiration to write! As always, dear Linda, your lovely comments, your support and encouragement is so much appreciated, thank you!

  2. Julie, I love the first poem:
North winds moan on hilltop high
Moon Mother reigns the midnight sky
This is as wonderful a start to a poem as I can imagine. What makes both of these so wonderful is the mood you manage to build up and the culminate so effectively in the last lines:
    Namesake roams the wooded grove
His mate protecting den in cove
With reverence sings a haunting tune
Atop the knoll in full Blue Moon.
Anything Celtic appeals to me, of course. Much of the old Irish, even from the time of Taliesin, and the battle between the druids and the ancient Christians, seems to echo deep inside. Both the acrostic and the poem manage to haunt alive those distant times and bring to us the mystery and power of the wolf howling beneath a full blue moon. That’s enough to make any poet who is a true poet shiver.

    1. Thomas, I’m truly honored by your comments and encouragement on my poem and acrostic, thank you so very much. I, too, am fascinated by anything Celtic, and it’s one of my favorite subjects to write about. I’m delighted that you enjoyed these so much. ~ Julie :)
